Applied Public Policy Research
Papers
Thanks to funding from the State of Michigan, IPPSR sponsors faculty
research on possible solutions to policy issues. The resulting 10-
to 50-page papers inform the legislative debate. Topics of grants
include the following: Children, Youth, and Families; Criminal Justice;
Health Policy; and Urban Policy.
Informing the Debate

Informing the Debate is a series of policy papers published
by IPPSR in partnership with MSU faculty and units across campus.
The first two sets of papers focused on various health and urban
policy issues.
Inside IPPSR
A periodic update, the eight-page Inside IPPSR is a great
way to stay abreast of the Institute's activities and resources.
IPPSR Policy Brief
IPPSR Policy Brief is an executive-style, four-page publication
aimed at bringing the latest research to the state-level policymaking
community. The Brief often features findings from applied policy
research papers.
State of the State Survey
A two-page analysis of current public opinion in Michigan, State
of the State Survey (SOSS) bulletins are released when particularly
salient issues are covered or unexpected opinions are revealed.
IPPSR's 5- to 20-page SOSS briefing papers compare how perceptions
of Michigan residents match against other regional, statewide, and
