Office
for
Survey
Research
The mission of the Office for Survey Research at the
Institute for Public Policy and Social Research is to
produce rigorous survey data on pressing public policy issues to
inform policy and decision makers and the general public.
Our capabilities are rooted in our multidisciplinary strengths, including healthcare, women's issues, civil liberties and public attitudes toward a wealth of topics.
Our results contribute directly to MSU's goals to advance knowledge and transform lives, from helping to improve the health of women and their babies to encouraging the futures of the youngest math and science students.
OSR administers in excess of 40,000 telephone, Web, and
mail questionnaires each year. Our computer-assisted telephone interviewing facility can accommodate more than
2,000 interviewing hours per week.
In addition to data collection,
methodological expertise and data analysis, our capacity is extended
to public, nonprofit, and private organizations.
OSR's projects span needs assessments, epidemiological studies,
opinion surveys, client feedback surveys, social or economic impact
studies, and political polls. We are expanding our resources in the area of web survey services and focus groups.
